A suspected abductor, Nnamdi king, Ogidi, has been arrested by detectives connected to the Anti-kidnapping Squad, IMO State Police Command.
Ogidi incorporates a record of kidnapping aged women.
The 34-year-old confessed to the police that he and his gang members who are presently at large have kidnapped many persons out of that fifteen of them were aged women.
Ogidi was arrested when he abducted a 74-year-old Regina Nkwocha, from Umuanyika, Ngor Okpala government area of imo state.
They had entered negotiation for N20million ransom once detectives busted their hideaway at Umuaguma in Owerri west, imo state on may 23, 2018. Ogidi was arrested whereas the opposite members of his gang escaped.
The IMO state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi told Daily Sun that the suspect, Ogidi popularly referred to as Bori and his gang members are on the wished list of the police over many cases of kidnapping.
The commissioner explained that back in Nov 29, 2017, Ogidi and his gang abducted Adulphus Akagha aged 94; on may seven, 2018, they abducted sixty five -year-old Dorothy Nkwo and demanded for N5million ransom.
She was later discharged when the family paid N500, 000.
He expressed that Ogidi had successfully abducted Mrs. Nkwocha and was negotiating for a N20million ransom once detectives crystal rectifier by Supol Sani Ahmed stormed their hideaway and saved the victim.
At the police headquarters, Ogidi confessed that he joined the gang of kidnappers 5 years agone.
